My name is Ryan Storm and I have a slight jamband obsession.

Ever since I got into Phish in 2011, I’ve been in somewhat of a musical rabbit hole. Jambands have so much to listen to, analyze, and dive deep on. As a keyboard player, I always find myself really dissecting the instrumentation of what I listen to. This led me to start the We Move Through Stormy Weather podcast in the fall of 2020. With a phenomenal cast of guests, it has been an incredible experience to talk to people like Joel Cummins from Umphrey’s McGee and bassist Karina Rykman about one thing we all have in common - our passion for music.

I decided to start this column to have an outlet to write about other music-related topics than what I discuss on the podcast. I’ll be posting things like show reviews, jam breakdowns, keyboard rig rundowns, and anything else music-related that pops into my head!
