Jam Breakdown - 12/5/95 Harry Hood
One of Phish’s quintessential songs, every version of Harry Hood is special in its own way.
Last December, I was lucky enough to sit down with Umphrey’s McGee keyboardist Joel Cummins for episode three of We Move Through Stormy Weather and break down our favourite versions of the tune - listen here or wherever you get your podcasts!
Joel’s pick was 12/5/95 Amherst, a version I had not heard before - I was absolutely blown away by the performance. As is typical of mid-90s Phish (and especially December ‘95), each member is at the top of their game chops-wise and was blowing the doors off every song every night.
I hope you enjoy my breakdown - stay tuned every day of December for more in-depth looks at jams on their anniversaries!
Harry Hood starts at 2:04:07 of the link below.
