LADIES AND GENTLEMEN…it’s bracket season! Welcome to the fifth annual Goose Jam of the Year Bracket, presented by Always Almost There and powered by nugs.net! We’ve been preparing for months and can’t wait to dive into another bracket full of fun banter, deep discussions, and celebration of the best Goose jams of 2024!
We’d like to begin by thanking everyone for getting involved in this year’s seeding process - we had a 50% increase in the number of playlists submitted from last year! The participation has never been bigger and we can’t wait to keep doing this every year!
Special shout-out and thank you to Adam aka 6R0M7, who has once again outdone himself with helping on tons of statistic-related items PLUS creating the seeding formula and spreadsheet!

When Does the Party Start?
Beginning Saturday, February 1st at 12pm ET and continuing every day until the champion is crowned, there will be a poll posted for you to cast your vote. Polls will be on an external website (no social media required) and links will be posted daily on @AATGoosePod on Twitter, Bluesky, and Instagram stories. Every poll will be open for 24 hours and we will be doing TWO polls per day for the first two rounds of matchups, and then one poll per day from the Sweet Sixteen onward.
Each day’s matchups will be broadcast live by our friends at WTED Radio at noon ET throughout the entire bracket! They have some great new ideas this year to keep the regular listening fresh so tune in live, join the discussion, and enjoy!
Bracket Challenge
In addition to the daily voting, we are also very stoked to be continuing the tradition of the JOTY Bracket Challenge! Similar to a March Madness pool, everyone will have an opportunity to fill out a complete bracket before the matchups begin. You will earn points for each winner you accurately predict - matchups in the first round are worth one point each, second round are worth two, Sweet 16 are worth four, Elite Eight are worth five, Final Four are worth six, semi finals are worth eight, and guessing the champion will earn ten points. Along with priceless bragging rights, the first-prize winner will receive their very own golden Strange Man figurine - plus one year of an All Access nugs subscription, merch, and more! The deadline to submit your Bracket Challenge picks is 11:30am ET on Saturday, February 1! Sign up and enter yours here!

Thanks to the wide-ranging and diverse pool of submissions from all corners of the Goose community, we were able to capture a more accurate consensus of the 64 most popular, most listened to, most respected, and most loved jams. So, if one of yours didn’t make the cut, it’s simply due to the fact that Goose gave us such a long list of amazing candidates! We were truly spoiled in 2024! This is awesome!!! Only terrible snub I see is the Empress from IA overlooked. This was an insane sleeper show with unreal, unique versions of Empress, Tumble, AIN and a very solid Arrow. The empress however is a 35+minute masterpiece which unfortunately for JOTY ranking purposes, sandwiched a fiery green river! The first half of the empress was 23minutes and very unique the ending is nearly 13mins and equally unique. I’m surprised You, Ryan, and the AAT missed this amazing piece of music. This sandwich SHOULD have been allowed in the competition as 1 jam—at the very least the two Empress sections! Even the first half of this Empress should have made the bracket!! Please listen and publicize it for the masses!! Thanks for all you do!! -Kennett
